Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information shaneearn.com (“the site”) collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. The site is run by Shane Earn in Orange County, California. “I,” “me” and “my” below mean Shane Earn.
What I collect
Information you send me. The site has no accounts, comment sections, sign-up forms or checkout. If you contact me by text message through a link on the site, I receive your phone number and whatever you choose to write. I use it only to reply to you.
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, the site and the services it uses receive standard technical information when you visit: your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you view, the site that referred you, and the date and time of your visit.
Cookies
Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. This site uses:- Consent cookies that remember your cookie choices, so the banner doesn’t ask again on every visit.
- Analytics cookies from Google Analytics (for example, _ga) that help me understand how many people visit and which parts of the page they use.
- Accessibility preferences saved in your browser if you change settings in the accessibility tool, such as text size or contrast.
Third-party services
Some features of the site are provided by other companies, which receive information from your browser when you visit:- Google Analytics (Google LLC) measures site traffic. Google’s use of this data is described in its privacy policy. You can opt out with Google’s opt-out browser add-on.
- Google Fonts supplies the typefaces on the site. Loading them sends your IP address to Google.
- Elfsight and Instagram. The homepage shows recent posts from my Instagram account using a widget from Elfsight. The widget and the posts are loaded from Elfsight’s and Instagram’s (Meta Platforms) servers. See Elfsight’s privacy policy and Instagram’s privacy policy.
- My web host keeps standard server logs to run and secure the site.
How I use information
I use the information described above to run and secure the site, understand how it is used so I can improve it, and reply to messages you send me. I do not sell your personal information for money, and I do not use it to build advertising profiles.
Your choices and California privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what personal information I hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, and to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information as those terms are defined in California law. Because analytics cookies may count as “sharing” under that law, the cookie banner includes a Do not sell or share my personal information link that turns them off.
To make any other request, contact me using the details below. I may need to confirm your identity before acting on it. I will not treat you differently for exercising any of these rights.
How long information is kept
Analytics data is kept according to the retention settings in the site’s Google Analytics account. Text messages are kept only as long as needed to reply to you or as required by law. Server logs are kept according to my web host’s standard practice.
Children
The site is meant for adults and is not directed to children under 16. I do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent me personal information, contact me and I will delete it.
Changes to this policy
I may update this policy when the site or the services it uses change. The effective date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised.
